Green Shoots

There is always much pleasure taken from looking forward to you next holiday – particularly for those returning to the delights of ‘Highlands’ in Jersey. After a disappointing cold winter in the UK the prospects of a hot summer seem more likely if records are to be believed.

We even had a little snow in Jersey but most of the farmers had planted their potatoes under plastic covers before it fell. Soon the green shoots of other crops will be evident, with the prospect of the ears leading to the full kernel awaiting the harvest (Mark 4 v 28-29). Our guests hopefully are refreshed and experience His Love as they hear our ministry team but we hope too that it encourages them to grow towards full maturity and a preparation for the real harvest.

My thanks to those who have enquired about Madeira and Manuel’s family in particular. Of course he together with many relatives, have been working in Jersey lately since coming back from his Christmas holiday in Madeira. Manuel has been helping Alex re-decorate our six downstairs single bedded rooms and the Rosière Lounge. He does however come from N E Madeira, so his friends and relatives have not been directly affected by the floods/mud slides in the south. Jersey has so many Madeirans working here and the two islands will support each other wherever there is a need if this is possible.

We have been contacting evangelical churches in the UK and in N Ireland promoting the joys of Jersey (and Highlands Hotel!). Perhaps you have seen one of our posters? If your Church could display an A4 poster in the lobby/notice board do let us know and we will send one on for you if we have their address details. (Some Churches do not have letter boxes but have an alternative address for the Church Secretary.) Email – for posters, brochures, or tariff/speaker lists and we will send them out to your home address.

The poster announces a Special Offer – now open to all who read our e-letter/website.
